Ask the Fantasy Expert- What do you think about the Chicago offense?
Bill from Pennsauken NJ asked me:
What do you think about the Chicago offense? Can it be the greatest show on turf reborn?
In maybe the shortest answer ever, NO! That would be not a chance. They were one of the most explosive offensive teams in NFL history. That being said, I like a lot of what Chicago brings to the table this year.
I'll Start with my man alphabet, Devon Aromashodu. If you look at this kid's numbers over the last 5 games of the season he stacks up against anyone. He looks like he has Cutler's trust and may become his go to guy. I am not saying Tory Holt numbers, but he could easily crack the top 15 range this year. You can pick him up late.
Matt Forte should have a decent year as well. He is not Marshall Faulk and should never be compared to him. People got burnt drafting him in the top 5 last year and that will cause him to fall this year, which is precisely why you should pick him around 14 or so in your draft. He will have a bounce-back year.
Greg Olsen, talk about someone designed to catch and run over people. I honestly think Olsen will see a good deal of time split out with Des Clark lining up as the TE. Martz is creamin his shorts imagining him coming across the middle for the catch and run.
Lastly, the straw that stirs the drink, Jay "Mama they talkin mean about me" Cutler. Even in a horrid year like 2009 he still put up decent offensive numbers. He should also bounce back after all the trade hype dies down and he can just throw it on the field now. I think he has 8-10 rank ability as a QB, so draft him as a back up for trade bait or if you go heavy WR-RB early.
I don't like Earl Bennet, whether he went to Vandy or showered with Cutler doesn't matter to me. If he was that good last year would have been his breakout year. Also, not a big Johnny know fan. Johnny Knoxville maybe, but not Knox.
